Hey luvs, we are Mahe and Raahema. We are two cousins who, despite the geographic distance that divides us, share the same love for fashion. Trends To Try!!

Hey luvs! It's Mahe and Raahema here with a post all about TRENDS! Now, of course you should always stay true to your original style, but sometimes it’s fun to try new trends for the season. Today we have three fabulous trends that we have been loving for this spring!

1. NEON: Neon is a more of a daring trend, but there are subtle ways you can incorporate it into your wardrobe!

  2. KNIT/CROCHET : The knit/crochet trend is one that we are really loving for this spring season. This trend gives off a very bohemian vibe!

3. MINT GREEN:  Mint green is a gorgeous trend that is perfect for spring. The color is fresh and unique. We have been seeing this trend all over the runway!

Those are the three "trends to try" that thought you would enjoy! What did you think of the trends? Leave you response in the comments below!

What to Wear... to the airport

Hey luvs! It's Raahema again, and today's post will be an informative guide on what you would wear to the airport. So, when I go to the airport, I always want to be comfortable, but still look cute. Whenever I travel, I like to wear the following:

First, I would start off with your favorite pair of jeans. The jeans should be comfortable, and a pair that you luv! I wouldn't wear sweatpants because I like to look a little more fashionable. I also wouldn't wear a dress or skirt because I think that would be too dressy.

Next, I would wear a stylish, but simple shirt over your jeans. The shirt should be fun and cute, but not too dressy. Also, I wouldn't recommend wearing anything that has fringe or any material that might get caught in the plane.

For shoes, I would go with UGG's or any pair of soft, comfy, boots that you have laying around. I would also wear a pair of flats, because you could easily slip them on and off. Heels would be a no for me because you might trip or fall.

As for accessories I would keep it simple. I wouldn't wear any thing that would get caught on something, such as long necklaces or earrings.

Lastly, I would wear a cute sweater, or jacket to keep you warm on the long, sometimes cold, flights!

I hope you all enjoyed this blog! Please leave any comments or pictures on what you wear to the airport below!

Mahe's Ameen!!

Hey Luvs, it's Mahe and Raahema. Welcome to our new series "Fashion in Another World." In this series we'll be sharing fashion from our distinct culture. This series will include ceremonial outfits we wear for different cultural and religious events. Our first edition to our new series is Mahe's Ameen.
An Ameen is a religious ceremony that concludes the first reading of the Holy Quran. The Quran is Islam's holy book and is written in Arabic. It takes a lot of discipline and practice to read, especially for someone whose mother-tongue is not Arabic. While Muslims are expected to continue reading it all their lives the first complete reading of the Quran by a young Muslim is celebrated with a formal ceremony. The young reader receives gifts and the parents usually host a lunch. It's also a great opportunity to display an ethnic fashion sense!!
Here are a few pictures of my outfit, hair, and makeup! Hope you all enjoy!

This first picture is of me and Raahema before the ceremony began! Raahema is wearing a beautiful peach and green suit, which is called a salwar kameez. The shalwar is the pant and the kameez is the shirt. This is the traditional type of clothing Pakistanis wear! I am wearing the baby pink and turquoise Shalwar Kameez that was designed by my Nano (grandmother).

As for my hair, it was curled which I got done at the salon. The piece of jewelry on my forehead is called a tika. The tika I had on was gold with white pearls and pink stones. This lovely tika was borrowed from a close friend. My makeup was pretty subtle for the most part. I used some copper shades on the lids, a light pink blush, and a nude lipgloss.

The picture above is a more detailed picture of the embroidery at the bottom of my shalwar kameez. Which was the same exact embroidery that my aunt had worn on her engagement party. My grandma took it off that "kameez" and put it on mine!

The shoes above are what I wore on my Ameen as well. I guess you can say they are the Pakistani version of a ballet flat!

Lastly, this is a closer look of my dubatta (scarf) which was also what my aunt wore on her engagement party. This scarf was placed over my head for religous purposes. I hope you all liked today's post! Tell me  what you thought about it in the comments below!

Spotlight Shoe!

Hey luvs! Its Mahe and Raahema, and today we have our first edition of our new series, “Spotlight Shoe.” The spotlight shoe is a unique pair of shoes that will be featured in our blog almost every month. The pair of shoes will be fun, stylish, and very wearable. Here are our “Spotlight Shoes.”

                                       Mahe's Shoe
My shoe of the month is a pretty plain taupe canvas flat, with a neon yellow peep toe. To me this shoe just screams spring and summer. Neon is a huge trend going on this season. This shoe is great for incorperating a little bit of color into your wardrobe. For the day time, just pair some light wash denim skinnies and a plain white tee. Also add some neon color accessories to tie in with these shoes.(example a neon yellow belt) For night, add a fitted black blazer, put on some dark wash skinnies. Put on some neutral arm candy and finally a neon yellow clutch will finish the look!

Kate Spade $198

                                                           Raahema's Shoe
Ok, so my shoe of the month is a woven wedge from Charlotte Russe. There are many different ways you could wear this shoe. You could dress it up with a cute black dress and some jewelry. You could also dress it down with some dark skinny jeans and a cute, but simple top. The color of the shoe is great because you can pair it with almost anything. In my opinion, the woven detailing is extremely eye-catching, while the wedge heel is very comfortable. That is why this shoe is a must for me!

Charlotte Russe $35.50

So what do you all think of our "Spotlight Shoes?" Mahe's shoe was a Kate Spade flat for $198, while Raahema's was the Charlotte Russe wedge for $35.50. Whose shoe would you rather wear? Leave the response in the comments below.

Spring and Summer Nail Polish Picks!!!

Hey luvs! It’s raahema here, and I wanted to show all of you some of my favorite nail polishes for spring and summer. During the sunnier, warmer seasons, I like to wear brighter and more fun nail polishes. Here are some of my favorites:

Brazilliant!   Turquoise and Caicos!     Access 24/7!
Dating a Royal!  O.P.I On Collins Ave!     Pansy!

These six nail polishes are gorgeous colors that i find very pretty for spring/summer. Brazilliant is a brilliant, bright orange with a hint of pink shimmer. Turquoise and Caicos is a pretty sea foam green. Opi On Collins Ave is a beautiful red with hints of pink and orange. And lastly, Pansy is a shimmery, fuchsia pink. these six colors, in my opinion, are fun and pretty! I think that they will look great for the sunnier seasons. What do you think?
