Hey luvs, we are Mahe and Raahema. We are two cousins who, despite the geographic distance that divides us, share the same love for fashion. Between living in the Garden state, NJ and the Keystone state, PA, we come across many different people with many unique styles. We are Pakistani-Americans and while we straddle two very different cultures, we find a good balance between the two. Our sense of style is influenced by our religious background as well as our culture. We will fill you in on all the things we are loving this season.xoxo.

New Years Eve Outfit Ideas!

Hey Luvs! It's Raahema here with a post to show you an idea for your New Years Eve outfit!

Untitled #10

So, I started off with a sparkly silver dress to give the outfit an overall feel of glitz. This sheath dress is from Forever21 and retails for $38. Then, I added a pair of spike studded ballet flats from Charlotte Russe. The silver on the toe matches the dress beautifully and the spikes give the look the perfect amount of edge. The shoes cost about $30. For jewelry I wanted to keep it simple, adding only some stacked black and silver bracelets (Charlotte Russe $6). Lastly, I paired the dress with a gorgeous bow clutch. This one from Nordstrom is incredibly expensive at $395, but you can easily find much less expensive versions at Forever21, or even Target.

I feel like this outfit would be the perfect way to bring in the New Year with a bang!

All about NAKED!

Hey Luvs! It's Raahema here blogging about the three Urban Decay Naked palettes! Mahe and I have already done a review on the Naked 2 palette but I just wanted to give you a little more information on all three palettes! To read our review post, click the link below. However, I do want to let you know that this is not a review post because I have not tried out the other two palettes. This post will just be a quick source of information on the palettes.

Naked 1 Palette:
The Urban Decay Naked palette is a gorgeous bronze-based palette with 12 neutral shades. The palette includes lighter, champagne colored shades such as "virgin" or "sin," as it works its way through darker, and slightly more sparkly colors like "sidecar" or "half baked." The palette also includes some purples and blues, "mustle," "creep," and "gunmetal," for a darker, nighttime look. This product also comes with a flat shader brush and features the Urban Decay travel size Primer Potion. I definitely would love to own this palette, but currently don't due to the $50 price.

Naked 2 Palette:

The Urban Decay Naked 2 palette is one that I do own. However, this product is also $50. This palette is much cooler than the Naked palette, but still features warmer shades like "snakebite" or "tease." This palette also comes with 12 beautiful colors but features more sparkly and shimmery colors than the Naked 1. This consists of shades like "bootycall," "chopper," and "ydk." It also includes some matte shades such as "tease" and "busted." One think that I really like about this palette is that it includes a pure black color. Now although I wouldn't use it as eyeshadow, this color is great if you are low on eyeliner.  The Naked 2 also comes with a double sided brush with a flat shader on one side and a blending brush on the other. In place of the primer potion in Naked 1, there is a gorgeous berry colored lip gloss (travel size).

Naked Basics:

This is the newest Naked palette, the Urban Decay Naked Basics. This palette has 6 colors instead of twelve, but is also much more affordable at $27. The soft palette includes some shades seen before in the previous palettes, such as "Foxy," but also has never before seen colors like "Venus" or "Faint." For me, I wouldn't buy this palette just because I feel like the other palettes include much more for their cost. However, if you are looking for a high-end, neutral palette, this is definitely one you should check out!

So, what do you think of the incredibly enticing "Naked" palettes? Leave your response in the comments below!

Holiday/ Winter Outfit Ideas!

Hey Luvs! It's Raahema here to show you an idea for a
winter/holiday outfit! Enjoy!

Untitled #11

So, for this outfit I started off with simple skinny jeans. On top, I added a beutiful reindeer print sweater from A&F, $72. To keep with the warm and cozy feel of the look, I paired the sweater and jeans with some warm, gray Cardi UGGs. For bags, I added a quilted heart purse from Forever21 for $25. In my opinion, the bag gives the look a softer, more delicate feel. And of course, I couldn't forget the winter accesories, so I gave the outfit a pair of cream colored gloves and a matching knit hat! I think that this outfit is perfect to wear during the holidays, or on a chilly, winter day!

So, what do you think about this outfit? Leave your response in the comments below!

Need Some Change: Haircut!?!

Hey Luvs, it's Mahe here bloggin' about hair!! I have had the same hair cut for a couple years now and it is time to change it up.... a bit! I don't want to do anything drastic because I have done that before and I don't want to go down that route again! In seventh grade I got my hair cut very short and let me tell you, I did not like it! I wish I had a picture of when I got it done that day because I looked like I went back in time to the 80's!! However, when it grew out to about my shoulders I thought it looked pretty good on me. Now my hair has grown out past my shoulders! I really want to grow out my hair, but I also need to get a cut with some shape to it! I did have really long hair when I was younger, but in 4th grade I cut 12 inches off and donated it to a charity called LOCKS FOR LOVE. Even with that haircut my hair was still past my shoulders!!! So basically, I'm just rambling about my hair because I would really love if you all can give me suggestions on what I should do with my hair cut wise!!

As  you from the pictures my hair is very flat and shapeless!!  Please help me guys and tell me how you think I should get my hair cut!!

Holiday Gift Guide!! For Her MAKEUP!

Hey Luvs, so the Holiday season is obviously here, so today I am going to talk about some gift ideas for her. I am going to start with some cheaper priced ones and work my way up to the expensive gifts!

$20 and Under! MAKEUP

Believe it or not you can get some good makeup items for $20 and less! I wouldn't recommend getting someone one lip gloss or one nail polish because the gift may not seem as thoughtful! So, a good idea is to get someone a value set or a palette. Sephora comes out with such great little palettes and sets for this time of year!

On the left here are just three of the MANY palettes that you can get from sephora! The first one is $20 the second one is only $10 and the last one is $19. It's great because this is all high end makeup that is very inexpensive!!

If you have a friend that is experimenting with make up it is probably better to get them some drugstore makeup, but for the holidays one product isn't going to cut it! Elf is a really great brand of makeup that is super duper cheap! The quality of the makeup varies but that's what YouTube is for!! Right?!?! Do your research before!!

Elf has really great gifts for this holiday season from 144 piece eyeshadow palette for only $15! Brush belt for only $15 with and 15 nail polishes for only $15!! http://www.eyeslipsface.com/

$50 and Under!

The Naked 2 palette is a versatile palette and is great for anyone to use if the love makeup. It retails for $50 so i would get it for someone who really appreciates makeup.

These Mac brushes make a great gift. It is from there new holiday collection this year and it is only $50!! Which is great for mac brushes though, they are mini sizes!!

The last type of gifts are the beauty sets from sephora! they are amazing because you can get a bunch of them and split them up between Friends to make cute little holiday baskets for them!!

These are just some of the many beauty products that you can get for those beauty lovers, whether it is your friends, sisters, mom, grandma, whoever!

Naked 2 Pallete Review!!

Hey Luvs it's Mahe and Raahema here doing a post about our opinions on the Naked 2 Palette! We both bought this palette on Black Friday and we are so excited to tell you guys all about!!

Black Friday Haul 2012:

Mahe's Review: I love this palette!! I have been OBSESSED with it ever since I purchased it!! I love how this palette is very versatile. I can easily go from a day look to a night look! Some of my favorite colors in this palette are Chopper, Suspect and Tease!! However, what I don't really like about this is the brush! The double ended brush was a plus but it is not soft at all!! It is not very soothing to my skin! But, I still like how it is a brush rather than a sponge tip applicator! The Naked 2 Palette come with an Urban Decay lip gloss in Naked, and I LOVE this lip gloss! I love the color the scent the taste, and the fact that it plumps my lips!! I actually did a tutorial using this palette, so if you want to check it our click here. --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WoyhM5sMRpo&feature=g-crec-u So that's my review! I hope you found this helpful!!

Raahema: I am also in luv with this palette. I wear it almost everyday, and love how it has a variety of colors, ranging from matte to sparkly to shimmery. The palette also has an assortment of colors, including both light and dark colors. I actually don't mind the brush and use one side for patting colors and the other for blending. The lip gloss is also amazing!  The color is a gorgeous berry color that is perfect for the holidays! I would give this product 5 stars!
So, what do you think of the Urban Decay NAKED Palette? Leave your response in the comments below!

Review: Maybelline Color Show Nail Polish!

Hey Luvs, it's Mahe here with a post about my new favorite nail polish!! I recently just got the Maybelline Color Show Nail Polish and I have to say it was love at first sight! I for one love the packaging and the price! They retail for only $2.99, which is a total steel when compared to the Essie polishes! The formula is a little bit on the runny side. But the finish these polishes give on your nails are so pretty! It only takes 2-3 coats and it dries instantly!!

Review: Elf Tinted Moisturizer

Hey Luvs! It's Raahema here with a review on the Elf Tinted Moisturizer. I recently purchased this product and wanted to let all of you know the pros and cons of the products.

Pros:

1. Inexpensive- only $3!
                                                               2. Light- not very heavy like a foundation

Cons:

1. Little product- The bottle is small to begin with. Being half empty is not exactly a bonus.
             2. Not a moisturizer- Although named a tinited moisturizer, this does not moisturize your skin.
             3. Orange tint- Probably the worst thing about the product is the orange tint that it gives your skin. It really makes it look like you got a bad spray tan.

Overall I do not reccommend this product. Please do not go and waste your time and money on this horrible tinted moisturizer.  I would rate it about 2 out of 5 *****.

So, what do you think of the Elf Tinted Moisturizer? Leave your response in the comments below!

My Night Time Routine!!

Hey Luvs, it's Mahe here blogging about my night time face routine! I have a new system for my face and I thought I would share it with you guys!
First off, i take of my makeup with water. I have tried a few makeup removers but they don't really work well with my skin. i have super sensitive skin and very dry skin! So when i take off the majority of my makeup I then use the Clinique 3 Step face system. I use the type for dry to very fry skin. I wash my face with the liquid facial soap in extra mild. This really does moisturize my face because this face wash is more of a lotion consistency that works well with my skin type!

Then I use the clarifying lotion by applying it to a cotton pad and wipe it across my face. this exfoliates your skin and keeps it glowing!

Lastly I put on the clinique moisturizer and I have to say that this is the best moisturizer I have ever used! I know clinique can be a little bit pricey so what I would suggest is just to get the regular moisturizer because it has SPF in it whih will protect your skin from the sun and don't bother getting a night cream because it is basically the same thing just it doesn't have the SPF in it!

So, yeah, this is basically what I do and I love it. I feel like my skin looks a lot better and healthier! BUT DON'T FORGET TO DRINK WATER!!! <-- #1 RULE!!

Review: Herbal Essence's Heat Protectant

Hey luvs, remember when I did that awful review on the Aussie heat protectant shine spray, well I found a new heat protectant that is amazing! It is from the brand Herbal Essence, which is one of my favorite hair brands. This heat protectant is 100x better than the Aussie one!

Aussie Heat Protectant Review: http://cousinscouturexo.blogspot.com/2012/05/products-i-regret-buying_24.html

The heat protectant by Herbal essence works wonders! The smell is fresh and frutie! It tames my hair and leaves it sleek and shiny! Have you ever tried this product? I recommend everyone to try this heat protectant out!

Friend or Foe: Black Nail Polish?

Hey Luvs! It's Raahema here with another "friend or foe" post! Today's post is about a controversial trend that is definitely not for everyone. Black nail polish. Personally, I love black nail polish, and I definitely feel that you can wear without looking too over the top or goth, but still look edgy and cool. However, I know that a lot of people are not a fan. If that is you, then in place of the black, I would wear a dark green or purple. That way you still have a darker color but not straight out black. What do you think of black nail polish? Friend or foe? Leave your response in the comments below!

Friend or Foe: Wedged Sneakers?!

Hey Luvs, it's Mahe here with a post about shoes again. I know I recently did a post about loafers but I came across another type of shoe that I thought would be an interesting thing to blog about! In magazines and in stores I have been seeing sneakers with a built in wedge.

When I first saw this type of shoe I did not know what to think of it. I don't think this shoe is for me. Personally I don't I would ever wear these type of shoes. I am not a heel or wedge type of person anyway, I love my flats and loafers!! What are your feelings toward the wedged sneakers? I have seen  many celebrities rock these shoes with sass!!
Let me know in the comments below what you think?

Acessorize!

Hey luvs, it's Mahe here with a post all about unique accessories!! Lately I have been on the hunt for some cool unique but inexpensive jewelry pieces. Though, I have not found the perfect pieces yet I thought it would be fun to blog about it!

First Piece: The Ear Cuff

I love this ear piece! I love the fact that you don't need to get an actual cuff piercing, the cuff part just attaches to the side of your ear! NO PAIN!! There are many different types of ear cuffs, the one above is more delicate and simple where as the one on the bottom is edgy and intricate!

Second Piece: Knuckle Rings
Knuckle Rings are super edgy and make a bold statement.  These rings take up your whole finger. There are also other types of knuckle rings like the ones below.  The ring on the right takes up about four fingers and lays horizontally unlike the ones on the top. On the left is a knuckle rings that takes up just the top knuckle of one of your fingers! I love this one so much because it is simple and elegant!

Third Piece: Ring Bracelets

Ring Bracelets are so pretty. It is a bracelet and ring attached as you can see above. These bracelets are so versatile because of how simple or intricate you can buy them.

As you can see these accessories take a different spin on the average rings bracelets and earrings! What is your favorite accessories to wear? Leave it in the comments below! TTYL

Trend to Try: LOAFERS!

Hey luvs it's Mahe here with a "Trend to Try" post.  I bet all of you girls have at least one pair of simple or intricate flats sitting in your closet. Flats are a nice staple piece to have in your closet. Flats are   a great piece to have but I feel like they have been over used with all of the different colors and patterns you can choose from. Don't get me wrong flats are amazing, I wear my flats to death. But, sometimes flats can get repetitive. For example...

A new trend that is sprouting this season are loafers! Loafers are still flats but the top part of the shoe is a little squarish, here is what I mean.

Loafers are so cute and come in different patterns and colors. They are like the basic flat but, in my opinion they are way cuter. What do you think of loafers would you wear them? or Do you think they are old lady like?

Fashion in Another World: OOTD!

Hey Luvs! It's Raahema here with a wedding OOTD! I recently attended a traditional Pakistani wedding and wanted to show you what I wore! I guess this is an OOTD post and FIAW post mixed in one! Enjoy!

So, for the wedding I wore a traditional dress in green and purple. Underneath I wore a green "churidar pajama" which is like a skinny pant that bunches up at the bottom. The outfit also had a green "Dubata" which is basically a scarf worn behind your neck.

I accesorized with some bangles, also known as "churia." They were a pinkish purple color to match the purple in the outfit but unfortunately look rainbow on camera!

For shoes, I wore a cream colored pair of peeptoe flats!

What did you think of my wedding OOTD? Leave your response in the comments below!

Depressing Devestation

Hey Luvs, sorry for the lack of blog posts on my part here in New Jersey. As you may or may not know there was a massive hurricane that hit a few states on the East coast. My family and I were impacted by Hurricane Sandy. We haven't had power for about six days and we are currently staying at our friends house . Thank goodness we still have water, but we need to conserve it. It is so depressing driving through the town seeing that gas lines are over a mile long and people are waiting in long lines just to get a warm cup of coffee.
On Sunday, the day before the eye of the storm was going to hit, my family and I went down to the Jersey Shore to look at the waves; which were huge by the way, and now within a day and a half the boardwalk is no longer. Though this hurricane will never compare to Katrina 2005, I cannot even explain the impact the Hurricane Sandy had on us.  Anyone reading this who was impacted by this storm, I hope you and your family stay safe.

Fake Nails: Friend or Foe?

Hey Luvs! It's Raahema here with a quick post on fake nails. I basically wanted to ask you guys whether you liked wearing fake nails, and what you thought of them. I am not the biggest fan. Although i love the way they look, i don't like the feeling of them on my nails. I also don't like the excess on my nails after you take them off, and the lack of scratching ability that you have with them on. Lol. What do you think of fake nails. Friend or foe? Leave your response i the comments below!

Beauty in another world: Kajal !!!

Hey Luvs! It's Raahema here with a "blaw" post for you all! Today I am going to give you my opinions on a beauty product often used in Pakistan called "Kajal." Kajal is an eye product, a lot like eyeliner, that you put on your waterline or lower lash line. Kajal is known to be much better for your eyes than eyeliner because of the lack of chemicals. My favorite brand of kajal is the Makbrook brand but you can go to any makeup store to try the brands they have.

Have you ever tried kajal? What did you think of it? Leave your response in the comments below!
