Hey luvs, we are Mahe and Raahema. We are two cousins who, despite the geographic distance that divides us, share the same love for fashion. Between living in the Garden state, NJ and the Keystone state, PA, we come across many different people with many unique styles. We are Pakistani-Americans and while we straddle two very different cultures, we find a good balance between the two. Our sense of style is influenced by our religious background as well as our culture. We will fill you in on all the things we are loving this season.xoxo.

DIY: Lemon Lip Scrub!!!!

Hey Luvs! It's Mahe and Raahema here with another DIY for all of you. Today's post will be on a homemade lip scrub using ingredients that you can find in your kitchen!

Ingredients:

1.) juice of ½ a lemon
2.) 100 grams soft brown sugar
3.) runny honey
4.) olive oil

Directions:

1. Put half of the soft brown sugar into a bowl; slowly add enough honey to mix into a firm paste - almost so it comes together in chunks.

2. Pour in olive oil bit by bit until it reaches a thin but not runny consistency.

3. Add the lemon juice and mix in very well.

4. Finish by adding the remainder of brown sugar and stirring until the paste is almost hummus like in consistency. Add more honey or oil if you feel the mixture needs it, just make sure it isn't sloppy.

So what did you all think of this DIY? Leave your response in the comments below!

What To Wear.... On A Night Out!

Hey luvs, it's Mahe here and today I put different pieces of clothing that I thought went together to make and outfit for a night out! I love this outfit so much and I hope you like it too!

What to Wear... On a Night Out!

A lot of the pieces in this oufit are very loud pieces but at the same time I feel like it works! The hot pink pants and the yellow clutch are both very bright, but one of the trends this summer has been color blocking, and I thought this was a subtle version of color blocking! The cheetah print Tory Burch flats adds enough pattern to the outfit. The cream blouse tones down the look, letting the pants and the clutch stand out! Finally, I just added a gold chain cuff to match the hardwars on the clutch and flats! I absolutely LOVE this look! Tell me what you think in the comments below!

Hashim's Ameen! (Raahema and her Mom)

Hey luvs, it's Raahema here with a post on my little brother's (hashim) ameen. If you don't already know from the post about Mahe's Ameen, then an ameen is a religious ceremony celebrating the finish of reading the holy book of Islam, the Quaran. An ameen is a fairly formal event so I am going to show all of you what my mom and I wore to it.

Raahema's Outfit:

For my brother's ameen, I am wearing a traditional Pakistani outfit called a Shalwar Kameez. The top is called a "Kamiz," while the pants are called the "Shalwar." The outfit is a beautiful golden-yellow color with reddish-maroon detailing. As you can see, the neckline has some detailing on it as well. For my hair, I did the front in loose curls.

The shoes I wore with the "Shalwar Kameez" were flip flop type sandals with a colorful pattern to match the suit. The picture on the right shows the "churian" that I wore with the look. If you don't know what "churian" are, they are basically bangles. My pair of "churian" are red and gold and match my outfit perfectly. They have sparkles and glitter to formalize the outfit.

Raahema's Mom's Outfit:

My mom is wearing another Pakistani suit called a "Sari." A sari wraps around your body to create a very figure-flattering effect. My mom's sari is a beautiful, bright orange with pink detailing on the border of the sari. Although you can't see them, she is also wearing pink heels. Lastly, she added gold jewelry to accent the outfit.

Us together:

So, what did you think of our ameen outfits? Leave your reponse in the comments below!

Look For Less: Kim Kardashian

Hey luvs! It's Mahe and Raahema here with a "look for less." In today's post we'll be recreating an outfit that a celebrity recently wore. Today the celebrity we chose is Kim Kardashian! Kim is wearing this beautiful blue maxi skirt paired with a plain white beater, some black aviators, nude wedges, a metallic belt, and some gold necklaces that she layered!

MAHE'S LOOK:

<><><><><><><><>
This skirt from, Old Navy, is a little
darker than what Kim is wearing but I think it
still works!

<><><><><><><><>
I love this belt from
forever 21. Kim has on a rose gold belt
that reflects in the sun, which look pretty expensive.
This belt kind of has the same thing going on,
but its a gold metallic belt
with brown foe leather on the front.

<><><><><><><><>
These nude wedges from Target are pretty
similar to the ones Kim are wearing!

<><><><><><><><> <><><><><><><><> <><><><><><><><>
Kim has on a plain white beater,
so I just added this beater from
Forever 21 with a light
flower print on it, that's very
subtle.

<><><><><><><><>
Even though Kim doesn't have on any bracelets I decided to pair this look with some! I added this silver and gold spike bracelet because thought out the look you see different colored metal on the shoes and belts.

RAAHEMA'S OUTFIT:

Untitled #3

My recreation of Kim's outfit starts off with the white tank top from Hollister. The top retails for about $25. The long blue skirt is also similar to the one that Kim was wearing and is about $35. The tan heels from an online store add height and style to the look. I also added this mettalic belt from Charlotte Russe and some long necklaces from Forever21. Lastly I put some black sunglasses!

So, what did you think of our "looks for less?" Leave your response in the comments below!

What To Wear... To Lunch With Friends

Hey Luvs! It's Raahema here, and today I put together a look that I find would be perfect for going to lunch with friends. This outfit is great for a casual lunch during the summer!

Untitled #2

This outfit is great for going out to lunch this season because of the bright colors of the pieces. The colorful top is light and breezy, while still adding a bold pattern to the look. The red clutch and shoes accent the outfit perfectly, by picking up the red in the shirt. Lastly, the charm bracelet adds a delicate touch to the look!

What do you think of my "Lunch" outfit? Leave your response in the comments below!

SSS: Beach Time!!!

Hey Luvs it's Mahe here and today I am going to share what I keep in my beach bag. This post will be part of our new series, SSS (sunscreen, sunglasses, suntan). Summer is finally here and it is time to head out to the beach!!

This Neutrogena sunscreen is my favorite sunscreen to use.
I have to keep sunscreen in my bag!! Protecting your skin is very important. I am pretty dark skinned to begin with so turning purple is not an option for me.

A towel is essential to bring to the beach, so you can lay it on the sand. I don't think anybody would want to lay on the burning hot sand.

I also like bring my sunglasses as well as a sun glass case so if I go into the water I have a safe place to store them.

In my beach bag I also carry a travel size moisturizer so my skin doesn't dry out!

Lastly, don't forget a fun beauty/fashion magazine to keep yourself busy! My favorite is Teen Vogue!
As far as makeup is concerned I just carry a waterproof mascara and my Burts Bees chapstick. Just when I need to freshen up.

What do you keep in your beach bag?

Trend To Try: Nautical!

Hey luvs, it's Raahema here with a post about one of my favorite trends, the nautical trend! The nautical trend, in my opinion, is fresh and cute looking, especially for the summertime!

Here is a nautical outfit that I think would look very cute this season!

Untitled #1

This outfit fits the nautical category perfectly with the navy blue, and red color scheme. The navy,  top from Hollister goes perfectly with the skinny jeans and blue flats. The top retails for about $50, while the flats are about $40. I recommend buying similar pieces for more inexpensive prices. The jeans range from $30-$40. The anchor necklace from Forever21 is about $4 and adds the perfect touch of "nautical" to the outfit. The bracelets add some detail to the otherwise simple outfit, and blend well stacked on top of each other. The gold and silver bracelet mix metals, but still works because of the gold and silver necklace. The golden knot bracelet gives more of the nautical feel to the outfit. Lastly, the red and blue rope bracelet adds a pop of color to the look!

So, what do you think of the nautical trend? Leave your response in the comments below!

Review: Kiss Press on Nails!

Hey Luvs, it is Mahe here with a review on the Kiss press on nails. Some of you guys may be familiar with this product because of the commercials on TV. I've heard a lot of different opinions on this product and decided to try them out myself.

I was very excited to try out these nails but also sceptical because of the low $7 price. I was pretty impressed with the quality of the glue, it worked very well and I felt like the nail was pretty secure. The down side of the glue, was the fact that it could be seen through the nail, which made the over all look very tacky looking. The nails did last for about 3-4 days which was also disappointing. Taking the nails of were pretty easy, the glue did stay on my enamel which was okay knowing that the ones you get done at the salon do the same!

Over all these nails were decent. I do not recommend them for using them all the time. But I think they would be appropriate to use for temporary purposes!

In the comments below tell me what you think of press on nails from the drugstore.

Health and Fitness Part 2: Healthy Eating!!

Hey luvs! It's Raahema here, and today I am going to be talking to all of you about healthy eating. While this isn't  beauty/fashion related this is something that I am really passionate about. A while back, I blogged about fitness so you can check that post out as well. Disclaimer: This post is not about losing weight, but staying healthy and fit!

Fruits and Vegetables: Fruits and vegetables are extremely important for your health, and are imperative to have in your meals throughout the day. I would suggest to try to have at least one serving of fruits or vegetables each day. Also, if you don't especially love one, then try the other. In my case, I do not like vegetables at all. I still eat them but I have more fruits than vegetables because I like fruits a lot. Some of my favorite fruits, that I recommend trying if you haven't already are mango's, kiwis, plums, and apricots. I also love berries. Strawberries and blueberries are extremely delicious! For vegetables I would recommend carrots, because they are a great source of fiber. I always prefer baby carrots with ranch!

Water: I cannot stress the importance of water enough. Water is not only good for your health, but is also good for your nails, skin, and hair. One tip that I have to drink more water is to always carry around a water bottle. This will remind yourself to drink water all throughout the day! Try to drink at least six glasses of water per day, and then work yourself up to eight.

A Balanced Diet: In your everyday diet, it is important to have a variety of foods. This way you will get many different nutrients and will be able to enjoy many different foods! Try including fruits/vegetables, meats, dairy products, and bread in your daily meals.

Portion sizes: Instead of having three big meals a day, I recommend having four to five smaller meals. Doing this will make you less hungry during the day, and will stop you from over-eating at certain meals. I suggest having one or two small snacks in between breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

So what did all of you think of my post on healthy eating? Leave your response in the comments below!

Fashion On A Budget!

Hey luvs, it's Mahe and Raahema her with a post for all of you girls on a budget! This post will show you some affordable versions of high end clothing and accessories items.

Don't both of these jeans look very similar! These sky blue skinnies are on trend this season with colored jeans. Colored jeans can get very pricey, like the pair on the left. This pair is from Zara and are about $50. But why pay that much when you can go to Forever 21 and get the same look for less, like the pair on the right for only $25.

Anything crochet is a must have for this summer season. Especially crochet shoes! On the left, we have the more expensive shoe from TOMS. This shoe retails for about $60, while the crochet flats on the right were only $15.

This Tiffany charm bracelet (on the left) is very delicate and pretty. But on the downside its about $6250. For the same look, just go with the Juicy Couture one for only $50.

These two cream lace dresses are very classy, and are perfect to wear during the summer day or night. There is no need to spend a fortune on one dress. The one on the left is from free people and is about $128, while the one on the right is from Forever21 and was about $24. AMAZING!!!

So, what did all of you think of our budget-friendly fashion picks? Tell us your favorite pieces in the comments below, that are cute and affordable!

Mehndi!

Hey luvs, so today's post will be a Fashion in Another World post! Recently I went to a pre-wedding party called a mehndi. In my culture, a mehndi is a fun party where people dance and sing for the bride and groom. The bride usually wears yellow and all the guests get dressed up for a night of fun. So today I wanted to show all of you what I wore. I hope you like it!!

So, to the Mehndi I wore a Lehnga. A lehnga is basically a dressy shirt, like the one above, and a long skirt. My aunt (Raahema's mom) got this for me last summer from Pakistan. The gold threading looked really pretty over the maroon and green shirt.

As for hair and makeup, I straightened my hair and braided my bangs back. For my makeup I used different shades of copper eyeshadow. I put a little bit of black eyeliner on my lower lash line to add some dimension. Lastly, I finished off the look with pink blush and a raspberry lip color!

For this look I didn't add any jewelry because of the detail going on in my outfit!
I hope you enjoyed!!

Arm Candy!

Hey luvs, it’s Raahema here with a post one of my favorite jewelry items... BRACELETS! I absolutely love bracelets, and I’m here to show you some of my favorites!

The first would be my Juicy Couture charm bracelet. I absolutely love the bow with the tiny heart hanging from it!

Another one of my favorite bracelets would definitely be this silver one
from Claire's. The bracelet adds a cute touch to any outfit!

This pink bracelet is one of my favorites
because of many reasons. One, the color!
I'm sure most of you know that my favorite color is pink!
I also like the bronze and gold specks throughout the jewelry piece.
I got this bracelet in a store in Pakistan called Haroons.

This charcoal colored bracelet is very versatile for the summer season. I personally like layering it with the pink one! This bracelet was also purchased in Haroons.

Lastly, I love this bracelet because of the woven, braid detailing.
The bracelet also adds a bit of glitz to your outfit.
This item can be worn during the day to lunch,
or during dinner at night. This bracelet, along with the
previous two, was purchased at Haroons.

So, what did all of you think of my bracelets? Leave your response in the comments below!
